Unveiling: Horse for Bridgwater — 24 September (Fair Field, West Street)
Join us on 24 September at the entrance to the Fair Field (West Street) for the unveiling of Horse for Bridgwater by artist-blacksmith Jake Bowers — a striking new public sculpture placed to mark Bridgwater Fair and the town’s long horse-fair tradition.

Jake, who runs Thirsty Bear Forge, has worked closely with Romany and Traveller communities, inviting people to help forge parts of his life-size horses. The Bridgwater piece is part of a wider, nation-spanning series of cob-horse sculptures that celebrate historic horse-fair sites and local Somerset heritage.
