Bridgwater Arts Centre

Bridgwater Arts Centre is a vibrant community hub located at 11-13 Castle Street, Bridgwater.
Established in 1946, it holds the distinction of being the oldest funded arts centre in England.
Housed in an historic Georgian merchant’s house, which adds to its charm and character, the centre offers a variety of events and activities for people to enjoy and participate in.
Our facilities are available to hire, for professional and community groups.
Bridgwater Arts Centre is undergoing refurbishments and are running a smaller programme of events in their bar.
The theatre will reopen fully to the public in Summer 2025

The Bridgwater Arts Centre offers a variety of spaces for hire, suitable for different types of events such as gigs, workshops, conferences, and social gatherings. Here are some of the available rooms:
The Theatre:
Dimensions: 5.3m x 12.2m (64m²)
Features: Largest room, fully accessible (except the balcony), suitable for performances, conferences, and large gatherings.
The Kelting Room:
Dimensions: 4.26m x 4.70m (20m²)
Features: Ground floor, fully accessible, natural daylight, ideal for small meetings or intimate classes.
The Wingate Studio:
Dimensions: 6.2m x 7.2m (44m²)
Features: First floor, light and airy, flexible seating, suitable for workshops and meetings.
The Bar:
Dimensions: 9.3m x 4.7m (43m²)
Features: Ground floor, fully accessible, stocked bar, relaxed atmosphere, suitable for small social gatherings or music nights.
The Gallery:
Dimensions: 8.8m x 6.4m (56m²)
Features: Ground floor, natural daylight, flexible space, ideal for buffets and informal gatherings.

Free on street parking after 6.00pm. Bridgwater Arts Centre is located in a primarily residential areas, so please be mindful of residents when parking.
