Accessible venue dedicated to film and digital technology. With a variety of spaces in the building it is often the base for community events.

Range of programming

Somerset Film’s programme of community engagement, talent development and creative production includes -regular courses in filmmaking and digital technology, access to creative support and resources through artist surgeries and technical support sessions, exhibitions and film projections, networking events including short film nights, film screenings, educational workshops, community outreach and half-term creative activities.

Hire facilities/spaces available

Our accessible venue has a range of spaces available to hire for meetings, conferences or training events. Superfast wi-fi and experienced technical support makes it the ideal place for courses, online conferencing or to live stream your meeting or event from.

Our Cafe Studio is a dynamic studio space that can be configured in a multitude of ways. This space is available on weekends and evenings. It can be used during cafe opening hours but you should be aware that part of the space will be accessed by the public. We recommend visiting this space to see its capabilities and how it relates to the cafe. Features multiple fixed projectors and wall space for projections.
Studio 2 is a vibrant space with lots of character, Studio 2 can be configured as a studio space, meeting room, or as an activity space. The separate entrance to the High Street makes this ideal for prearranged out-of-hours access.
Studio 3 is our smart meeting room which is ideal for online conferencing, hybrid meetings and live-streaming. It has superfast wi-fi with a 360-degree camera, mic, speaker and a widescreen TV.
The Shepherd Studio is the latest addition to our studio spaces, ideal for live-stream, creative production or meetings. It is a dynamic studio space that can be configured in a multitude of ways.
Finally our Archive Room is ideal to edit or create sound recordings. It is available to hot-desk or use the Sound Booth.
