Café on the Park is located within Victoria Park and offers inside and outside seating within sight of the play park. The team consistently achieves 5-star food ratings, provides a friendly welcome and our new mural brings the sunshine and positive vibes on the gloomiest of days. As a community café, we pride ourselves on being affordable without sacrificing quality, ensuring we source locally and sustainably. Café on the Park is one of the main income generators for our charity so when you choose here, you give back too.
Venue
The Community Centre is a great venue for hosting a range of activities both community focused, corporate and for individuals. We work hard to provide a welcoming, accessible and inclusive environment, the team do everything possible to ensure you have a positive experience. When you hire a room, we have screens and projectors, tables and chairs, on-site parking and Wi-Fi as part of the hire price, if required, Café on the Park can cater for your hospitality requirements. Our room hire charges is one of the main income generators for the Chairty, by choosing our venue means you give back and support our community development.
Range of programming
Victoria Park Community Centre offers a range of events for all ages and works with the children’s centre and other organisations to make your participation fun, active, interesting and welcoming.
Our youth club runs Term Time Only on a Thursday between 16:30 – 18:00 and is open to children from age 8 to age 12.
We host an over 55’s lunch club every Wednesday, and a Fish Friday on the first and third Friday of the month, just £7 for a main, pudding and cup of tea or coffee.
We are the home of Slimming World, Diversity Voice, Lola Fisher’s Dance School and B.L.I.S.S. We also run our local pantry at the community centre.
We offer a range of birthday party packages from Laser Tag, Foam Flingers (Nerf Gun), Bouncy Castles and Soft Play.
Hire facilities/spaces available
Victoria Park Community Centre offers various sized rooms for your needs.
Our main hall is large enough for any activity and depending on the seating configuration, we can accommodate up to 80 people. With under floor heating and hard wearing floor, the hall is most suited for high energy activity groups or large scale conferences.
The Victoria Suite is one of our most versatile, and suitable for many different events be it for training or educational purposes or meetings to medium sized groups.
The Rawles Suite is the perfect room for conferences and training with carpeted floor throughout and under floor heating. By design, The Rawles Suite is the most corporate of our rooms to accommodate more professional needs.
The Park Suite is a staff favourite of the available rooms at the centre. It’s located just off the back of our cafe and is the ideal fit for most needs. With wood flooring and sky light, The Park Suite can be utilised for almost anything!
The Elm Suite is suitable for small gatherings, with carpeted floor and heating. It is located at the rear of the building.
We have an attractive room suitable for holding small meetings and interviews. Room 4 comfortably accommodates up to three people. This rooms are very popular for counselling/mediation meetings and have an attractive aspect and calming environment.
The family kitchen can be used in conjunction with any of our rooms or hired out separately. Great for cooking classes.
